The Personal Injury Team

If you have suffered an accident or a personal injury that was not your fault, you could be entitled to make a compensation claim.

Platt Halpern solicitors have a specialist team of dedicated and experienced personal injury lawyers who can help you evaluate your compensation claim. Danny Halpern, head of department, is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). From start to finish, we aim to make the whole personal injury claim process as simple and easy to understand as possible.

What types of cases do we handle?

We handle all types of injury claims, including:

What will it cost?

Please contact us for a free initial interview. At this meeting, we will discuss whether you might be successful in your compensation claim, what you can claim for and how to fund the costs of your claim.

No win, no fee

If you do not have any other legal funding we will act for you on a no win no fee basis. You will not pay any costs if you lose. If you win we guarantee you will keep 100% of your compensation (subject to you complying with the terms of the no win no fee agreement).

Who will handle your case?

Your case will be handled by a specialist personal injury lawyer, with whom you will have direct contact throughout the case. A team of support staff may also become involved in your case, as and when necessary. If your case goes to trial we would normally instruct a barrister to represent you, but we would usually cover any pre-trial hearings.

How long will your claim take?

Most accident claims can be settled within 6 - 12 months. Other claims may take 1 - 2 years, particularly if your opponent disputes your claim and court proceedings are necessary. Very high value or complex claims can take even longer. However, it is in all our interests to win your case and to do so as quickly as possible.

What is involved in a personal injury claim for compensation?

If your opponent, or their insurers, dispute liability, we will need to obtain evidence to prove to the Court your opponent is liable for your claim. This will involve obtaining documents, witness statements and possibly expert reports.

If liability is established, or it is admitted, we will also have to prove the value of your claim by obtaining medical evidence to substantiate the nature of your injury. We will need to prepare a schedule of financial losses and expenses which you may have suffered and then prove these losses are reasonable by appropriate documentary and other evidence.

Our aim is to achieve the best possible outcome with least delay

We have invested in the latest information technology to ensure that we work efficiently for you. The team has an in-depth knowledge and database of expert witnesses, to ensure the best support for your claim.
